Sourced directly from central banks and major FX platforms. The app refreshes every 5 minutes.
Moneta shows the mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell prices on the interbank market, where banks settle with each other. Data comes from proprietary sources: directly from central banks and major FX trading platforms.
On your phone, Moneta refreshes rates every 5 minutes whenever it has signal. The latest set is written to a local cache on your device so the calculator keeps working offline — on a plane, in a tunnel, abroad with no roaming. As soon as your phone reconnects, Moneta downloads the fresh set in the background; no action needed. The mid-market figure on this page is a periodic snapshot, refreshed every few hours.
For cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and 40 others — we aggregate spot prices from major exchanges. For precious metals — gold, silver, platinum, palladium — we use London Bullion Market fixings.
